Louis Goldman

After the Calders, Mr. Louis Goldman became the proprietor. Louis Goldman married Miss
Marjorie Goodman whose family owned two hotels in Hout Bay - the Hout Bay Hotel and the

Chapman’s Peak Hotel. Goldman ran the Kings for 8 or 9 years. He had moved from the Grand
Hotel Pretoria to the Kings. According to his son Hayden, who lives in Johannesburg, Louis

Goldman had wanted to extend the Kings in the 60s, but was told by council that the adjacent

ground was reserved for residential purposes.
