leading up to the stoep. Before that the house had a wooden verandah and the entrance steps
were situated at the Muizenberg end of the building.
The site today is still a large one and it comprises three erven (88471 - the front garden, 88472 -
the plot on which the house stands, and 88473 - the vacant plot behind the house). The house is
reputed to be haunted by the ghost of Mrs Rathfelder, the wife of one of the owners in the 1860s.
